While sleep is the basic, fundamental component of health and wellness in humans, a majority of people do not get enough sleep every night. Most viewers sleep with a mediocre mindset in this modern, fast-moving world. However, the role played by proper sleep cannot be overstated. This article examines in detail the critical role played by proper sleep in both physical and mental health and gives insights into how best to optimise sleep.
Sleep is a state of altered consciousness demonstrated through decreased interaction with the immediate physical environment and relative immobility of the body. It has been identified as an integral part of neurological and cognitive function, memory consolidation, and regulation of emotions, among others. Chronic sleep deprivation has been associated with an increased risk for depression, anxiety, and other mental health disorders. On the other hand, good sleep can improve mood, enhance cognitive functioning, and generally contribute to good mental health.

Sleep is an important feature in life since it rejuvenates health, both body and mind, to an extent that one can attest to enjoying life, both in health and wealth.
